Clara Wyman Vissering - July 12, 2004

Clara Bertha Wyman Vissering, 91, formerly of Minonk, died at 1:30 p.m. Monday (July 12, 2004) at the Heritage Manor, Minonk.

She was born on Aug. 12, 1912, in Minonk, a daughter of John and Christina Marie Kettwich Wyman. She married Chester Mense Vissering on April 6, 1938, in Minonk. He preceded her in Dec. 1974.

Surviving are two daughters, Carol Smoots, El Paso; and Crystal (Mark) Lohr, Minonk; two grandchildren, Rodney (Susan) Smoots, Chapel Hill, N.C.; and Deanna (Don) Ragusa, Minonk; four great-grandchildren, Benjamin Smoots and Rebecca Smoots, Joshua Ragusa and Kristen Ragusa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Herman Wyman; and one sister, Grace Johnson.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Minonk. She also was a member of Willing Workers at St. Paul's and Young at Heart Club in Minonk.

She will be always missed, always loved and always remembered.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk, the Rev. Daniel Gansch-Boythe officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Minonk Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the St. Paul's United Church of Christ Youth Group or to the family for a memorial to be determined later.
